Initially, I removed 5.3.2, but had to re-install both programs to use Missing Sync for Palm. It appears that Now X doesn't have it own driver, or somehow the driver did not download with my copy of Now X.
Please advise.

Selecting multiple contacts in list view........

Posted by: Meggins
on: 01/11/09 04:57 PM

Hello! Can someone refresh my memory please? While viewing contacts in list view, I would like to select multiple contacts to print. I know to hold down the shift key to select a group of contacts which are together. Then, I remember to also hold the command key to add contacts which are not with the first batch. The problem is I must individually click each additional contact. My question is........ which keys do I press to highlight a large group of names while still keeping the first selected group highlighted as well? I hope this makes sense! Very Happy Very Happy

Thank you so much! I need to do a lot of printing from the contacts list and need to remember how to select different sections in an easy way!

Meg

Crawling back from major stuffups / deletions

Posted by: Kempy
on: 10/10/08 06:21 PM

We have an active user on our NOW server and and of course share the serial number with an active user as the server database is hardly ever opened. We find this very very helpful as when a member of staff deletes a contact along with all notes, keywords etc etc for one reason or other and all users have already accepted the " "fred" has been deleted - do you want to accept this? " we only need to open the server user, not accept the deletion when NOW asks, park it another category and then move it back into whatever database it was in originally. Much easier than going into back ups which means that all changes since the backup are lost etc. etc..

Common data pop-up

Posted by: Sean_dup1
on: 08/09/07 06:24 AM

I'll start the tips and hint ball rolling with one feature of Contact that I find few users are aware of.

In the detail view of a contact, you can right click (or ctrl-click for those of you with one mouse button) on any field and get a pop-up menu of the 20 the most common entries for that field with a count of how many times each entry is used.

So, for instance if you wanted to see what first names are most common in your database, and how many times the most common names are used, simply right-click on the first name field and you get something like this:

The 20 most common first names would appear here with a number in brackets showing how many times that piece of data shows up in that field in the database. Clicking on one of these items automatically fills in the field with that value.

Other possible uses would be seeing at a glance, in which state or city most of your contacts reside, or quickly filling out a common company name or address. This feature can be especially useful for custom fields where you might want to standardize the way data is input. Say I want to have a custom field that describes a doctors specialization, and I can't remember if I use "Pediatrician", "peds", "Pediatrics", or "PED.", the contextual menu will act basically as a value list, allowing me to always select the exact same spelling, wording, etc.
