My question would be why? Development is obviously dead, and someday they'll have to switch over. I would suggest finding an alternative now that will take them into the future. We just released BlackBook - a server based contact management solution. You can take an export of your Now Contact data and import it right into BlackBook.

Just like Now Contact you can share contacts with those in your organization, but we also have some great features - such as a CardDAV server to get your contacts on your iOS device! We also have great relationship manager, allow you to easily get from one contact to another.

How can I export my contacts to my iPhone or my Android phone? If that's not possible, how can I convert my contacts export file into a format, such as vCard, recognizable by smart phones?

I have Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.52 on Windows.

Is there some way to export to an intermediary program such as Microsoft Office that can then export the contacts to vCard? Since John Wallace doesn't come in here anymore, I will attempt to help you.

Apparently the software code was written for PPC, not intel chips. So what that means is that you HAVE to use 10.6 snow leopard or older versions of OSX.

And forget about it ever being re-written for Lion. Not going to happen.

If you all have to go to Lion, then you must look for alternate software. The Windows (2003 Server) system on which our calendar server (version of NSM.EXE is 4.5.5.1) suffered a fatal drive crash. We were able to resurrect a .db file and a .bak file from within hours of the crash. I'm trying to test the viability of either of these on a Windows XP Pro (SP3) system. If I create a Now Up-to-Date server and "locate" the .db file, then attempt to start it, the log file reports "Server error: Fatal Error: (invalid database ID)." If I try to use the .bak file (after first renaming it to ...db), when I try and start the server, I encounter an unhandled exception: c0000005 at address: 100672ce. I would guess that the original .db file was open during the crash, which caused some level of corruption and this is why the server reports an invalid database ID, but I can't figure out what's wrong with the bak file. I would be interested in knowing what you move to. I have looked at Bento (no letter merge or printing), I looked at Daylite (way too cumbersome, it does too may things and not enough very well), soho (see daylite comments).

I have been forced to keep a old mac running just to keep going with up to date.

I wonder how, if all these other software companies keep going juts how to NOW manage to crash and burn?

All I want is a contact manager that i can import a photo of the person (decent sized), call up their information, create contact lists and do some sort of simple letter merge with the info.
