Went off to work wearing shorts this AM, it was around 68. By the time I got home around 5 it was low 50s. The soil is still too wet and cool to plant much. Most years mid-May is the time to plant here.
Had to cut the grass twice already and it's overdue again, but I'm always "that house" anyway, the one that has small maple trees growing from the gutters so WTF.
Bleh… I'm done with that kaka. I have a 12 x 23 patch of lawn in my backyard. Sold my hand mower on CL last fall. Been treating with weed & grass killer. Another week and it'll be totally burned out, and then it's getting mulched — totally. Will plant a few shrubs and maybe arrange some ground cover plants and decorative stones later in the season. And maybe I'll widen the flagstone walk btwn the gate and patio.
These temp swings used to drive me batsh¡t crazy when I seas still driving my ol' Odyssey. The linkage btwn the temp slider on the dash and the blend door had snapped off, and to repair it, the entire console and dash had to be pulled out. No way! Fortunately, there's a small access panel just under the passenger-side dash through which the blend door can be manipulated. So I spent half of every Spring and Fall crawling under the dash to adjust the temp.
And I guess it must be me, because my Benz has a motor-driven blend door, and that motor died last month. Turned out to cost lass than half what the fix on the Honda would have been. Go figure. Pop out the glove box and passenger-side airbag unit, replace the motor 1-2-3, and done in an hour.
