Does iTunes need to be deauthorized?

I'm backing up my files on my LaCie external HD to get ready to transfer to me new G5. I thought I read somewhere that you should deauthorize iTunes when backing up, otherwise your music files will not play. Is this right, or is the process different?<br><br>

deauthorize whatever computer/hard drive you are not going to use. authorize new computer/hard drive that you will be using.<br> the info is stored on the hard drive somewhere.<br><br><br>My Stuff
