just downloaded and tried out Tango, a videophone aka FaceTime for those of us using 3Gs iPhones!
It works and it's free!

Have you tried QIK?

Also lets you stream live video as a webcam, and send video mail to people.

Skype has been updated with video support. Not sure if it works on a 3GS though
