anyone else terrible at putting on screen protectors?
I bought a 5 pack plus the invisible shield and screwed up all of them.
Too many bubbles and i always mess up the alignment.

It doesnt help I have a encase that can cause the sides to bubble.
I should just take a trip to the apple store and buy one more and let them do it for me.

Anyone know what is the best screen protector that works with the encase? Also should I just have the apple techs do it?
Or any tips at putting them on?

I put some on our iPhones and they came out perfect the fourth time I did it. grin

Im just gonna go to the apple store and buy one there and have them do it for me. I have an encase and if I dont put it on perfect the sides peel off.

The sad thing is, my friend at work gave me one of his extras and I did it perfect save one little bubble and I tried taking it off and putting it on again and it was much worse.

I have wasted like $30 on screen protectors and have nothing to show for it. ha

I have no desire to replace my phone's durable glass surface with a scratch-prone "protector" that dims the phone's light smile

But back before I saw the light (no pun intended) I found that any old plastic card helped a lot--for the initial application and then to chase bubbles.

I don't have any protection for my iPod at all.

I work as the shipping and receiving manager in a lumber yard. I want all the protection I can get.

I wonder if an unlubricated condom would work?

More than likely no, because they usually aren't clear enough.

Mine are large enough to hold several phones at one time.

Its more so I dont get those annoying finger prints all over the screen than to prevent it from being scratched.

I tried it several times but then gave up.
The screen is quite a fingerprint magnet.

I use a credit card, a needle, and a hair dryer. Once you fry the electronics and scratch the screen you just get a new phone then use the "rub on the butt" method of removing fingerprints.

Works like a charm every time.

grin Well, I don't 'rub on butt'. I use 'belly' instead. Works just great!
BTW: Is that screen made of glass or is it something else? I've had my 'Touch' for several months now and there's no scratch on it anywhere (on screen). But I've seen others who've had scratches on the front screen...

Glass. Scratching it takes some real doing.

Optical quality scratch resistant glass has come a long way. I think we owe the scanners in your grocer store for upping the hardness of the hardest glass Steve Jobs can buy.

Remember when the clerk had to rub your pack of hotdogs over the scanner a dozen times? Not anymore because the laser can easily see through the piece of glass even though the clerk has been dragging her wedding ring across it for months.

I bought a clear acrylic case with my Touch. Although it leaves the screen naked, I'm glad I got it because I have knocked the thing off a four foot table onto a hardwood floor twice within five minutes today. Continues to work fine. The fingerprint thing is a pain, asswise, though.

Yes, it does take quite a bit. Although I have to admit I put a smallish scratch on my iPhone. I thing a car key came in contact with it.
Darn sharp-edged key... there's a reason kids use them to scratch up paint jobs.
