Looking for Iomega Jaz Drive - 12/04/06 04:17 AM

I'm look for a Iomega Jaz tape drive for my server. I need it for weekly backups and sadly the OpernServer OS im using does not suport CD-RW or DVD-RW, only tape drives. I have searched the web and all I have found is media for it.

Jaz drive eh? I happen to have one which has never been used. I rescued it from a workshop clear out. At least, I think I did. I'll have to go check.

How much you want for it. I found one on amazon for 13 bucks but it was SCSI. I don't know if there are any IDE based drives but I would perfer IDE.

I guess I'll have to toss in a SCSI controller into my system. What size media does it take, the 1GB or 2GB?

OK, the brand new external drive I rescued is a Syquest drive, NOT a Jaz. I do have an unused Jaz drive too. The seal is broken but it has never been installed. That one is SCSI too. I bought a SCSI card a while back on eBay for less than $10. You don't need the fastest one on the market, the drive s going to be pretty ancient remember.
