How to create Mods for the mac

Hey, I was looking at all the different mods you can do to the different macs.. Like the cpu upgrades and such.. And I was wondering, how hard would these be to create from the ground up?

I am pretty good with circuit board design and understanding datasheets on iCs/uCs.. so I am not a total newbie.. but I am by no means an expert in this.

What do you'll think?
