Yes, it's witty and all, but they're trying to reach the moral majority with something that many would consider borders on, or is, vulgarity and blasphemy.

Fail.

Fail. Don't fight idiocy with vulgarity.

Maybe they're fighting vulgarity with vulgarity?

Also: Vulgarity is in the beholder's eye. I guess if they wanted to keep it anatomically correct, they'd have used, "penis" instead.

I don't have a problem using the word,
I still refer to the X-VP as THE Dick
Problem was using it in tandem with JC

Even if I don't necessarily believe Jesus
was the Son of God, I still respect him
as the most forward thinking individual
of his time (that we know of) & wherever
he'd spent those "missing years", their
simplified, easily understood teachings
went on to influence the human behavior
of a vast number of people to this day.

What I find disturbing, was that so many
hucksters co-opted his name in order to
legitimize their "God-Given-Right" to
force others into doing whatever they say.

So to this guy's point
'Keep your excuse for bullying
out of my daughter's personal life!'
cry

..kinda' looses sumpthin' in translation.. crazy

But the actual quote does nothing to convince the other side.. it just sparks more animosity.
I would say it has more negative effect than positive.

Like I said witty, but it will have the opposite effect, like NG mentioned.

I made my point that the moral majority will think it's vulgar, the said beholders you mention.

Other than that I don't feel like debating what the meaning of the word "is" is.

I always laugh at that "name." They are neither moral nor a majority.

Interesting phrase.

If group "A" is not moral and not a majority, then that would mean other groups taken together would be the moral ones an also the majority. Thus they would be the "moral majority " crazy

I reiterate.

IMO The sign is meaningless other than as reboot
is saying, being used to justify their opinion...

however to my point --- there is none!
No matter how the sign is worded, it will still
have ZERO Impact on their attempt to impose their
personal opinion on everyone else, even despite
The Supreme Court Ruling in Roe v Wade.

AFAIC the only purpose that sign MIGHT have is
being OUTRAGEOUS Enough to be "Caught On Camera"
and used to open an open discussion on the topic.

~Which, perhaps, was Leslie's purpose behind posting it. smile

I honestly don't even think it's witty at all, just a clumsy play of words, if you could even call it that. Let alone the other points made above.

Re: Father - 07/27/13 04:16 AM

It is plain vulgar to post signs like this in public.

Re: Father - 07/27/13 05:14 AM

Sometimes you gotta call 'em as you see 'em. It gets the point across and the issue under protest is just as vulgar, figuratively speaking, as the protest itself. 'Nuther words, the protest is not half as offensive as the issue.
