Uppity carpet muncher. She and Babwa sound like shrill witches. Why are these people even considered talent?

Seems to me if Glen got to the empty seats first and was told he could not sit there <-- then yes it was reserved

more talent than Beck, Rush, or Hannity !

did they ever do movies ? TV ?

get an Academy Award ?

Whoopi:
"In 1990, she starred as Oda Mae Brown, a psychic helping a slain man find his killer in the blockbuster film Ghost. This performance won her a second Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Notable later films include Sister Act (1992), The Lion King (1994), How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), Rugrats (1998), Girl, Interrupted (1999) and Rat Race (2001).
Goldberg has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards for her work in television. "

Barbara:
On June 14, 2007 Walters received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has won Daytime and Prime Time Emmy Awards, a Women in Film Lucy Award, and a GLAAD Excellence in Media award.

Case closed ! wink

A carpet muncher? I don't think this guy has munched a carpet in his life unless a dog has peed on it.

He gets called out on lying. Not the perception of lying or the maybe lying . He lied during his radio show. And his defense? Sounds like a well known defense played here before. He is not a reporter. He is only a commentator. I guess since he is not a news show he is allowed to lie. Commentators get to lie 100 percent of the time. Do commentators rate below game show hosts? Because if Alex Trebek lied like he did while hosting Jeopardy he would be out on his butt.

You're right. Talk about a dog urine soaked carpet muncher and he does it with a smile on his face. That is quite a talent but it plays hell on his hairdo. He should stop rolling in it.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/21/09 01:34 PM

I would agree that "uppity" and "shrill witches" carries a heavy racist and misogynist baggage. Likely the users of such language were also surprised when that talk show host was fired for using "nappy headed whores" to describe a women's basketball team.

Using that kind of language is not funny and never will be hopefully. People who use that language are just plain aßßholes who think they are funny. Calling them on it each and every time seems like a waste of time since they only get horribly offended but you are right. It should be pointed out each and every time. Silence only breeds boldness to use even more offensive language.

Well, you don't have to look far to find "Those People".
Like Bryan's "BuckWheat" avatar, MoJo obviously thought

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/21/09 07:41 PM

I always thought Whoopi was a loud mouthed racist anyway, but when she tried to rationalize Michael Vic's behavior with "from where he comes from in the South, dogfighting isn't that unusual," that cemented my opinion of her.

There are different standards for humane behavior between the south and north, black and white? Not in my book.

I wouldn't take any stock in her opinion, she promotes racism, and her opinion is dangerous to a civilized society, too bad she has so much press.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/21/09 08:25 PM

She was born and raised in New York. What she knows about the South wouldn't fill a thimble even as small as Beck's mind.

Throw in Walters and you have a colossal waste of time x 3.

I happen to think Whoppi is immensely talented,
but I limit my viewing to her "comedy" routine &
don't even know what channel the "View" airs on.

As far as her being a racist, deal with it. There's a
WHOLE LOT of bottled up Black Resentment they'll
be working through for some time to come, if that
comes off as "Uppity" that in itself is part of the
problem. I'm afraid it'll take some soul-searching to
begin to understand where THEIR attitude came from.

I like Whoopie. I think she is funny and has had some good movies and her stand up when she was young was good.

Still, not sure why this makes her an expert on political views. No more then my next door neighbor. I have seldem watched the View and then not the whole show.

both that show and Glen Becks show is all about the program and not about any accuracy in reporting or what not. It's all entertainment. Like Hannity and Rush and what not. That's my opinion. i could be wrong. And if I am it's not big whoopie (not to be confused with Goldberg)

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/22/09 05:03 AM

I have little use for the matrons of the view (and somewhat waning respect for Walters). In fact, in watching the clip of Beck's well-deserved evisceration, I have now watched more of The View than I have since the show went on the air! But in this instance, I am totally behind the women. Beck is a weaselly, intellectually mal-formed, egocentric schmuck who offers about as much social value as a Chicken Mcnugget. If anyone owes an apology to anyone else, it's his parents to the rest of the world.

Yeah, yeah, I know... "tell us what you really think, Steve. grin

I loved both she & Opra in "The Color Purple".

Good...
If you remember her old One Woman Show, you've seen
her talent as an acute observer of Human nature.
She BECAME her characters.

Just like George Carlin... the only thing that qualifies
them above most of us, is the keen observational skills,
the ability to analyze and articulate YOUR SPIN on what
you've seen, and the outspokenness to voice that opinion.
A Social Commentator, with a flair for politics.

Some people like Bill Maher, some Steven Colbert, whatever
the only time I check it out is through links from here,
I do a little further research .. but soon tire of it if
it can't keep my interest.

I never watch the show, but I suppose she's entertaining.
I don't "do" daytime TV. LOL just not a "Soapy" I guess.

I agree, her rationalization of Vick was hypocritical. But she nailed Beck on this one, the video tells it all. ... and Now Beck has done a 180 and is as bad as she was about Vick.

Maybe Whoopi got the AA for playing Oda Mae (Ghost) because she was just being her true self ? wink

I liked her in that movie and Sister Act... she was funny.... but there she was an actress... not an authority.

But I agree, how she and Walters become authorities and knowledgeable commentators is beyond me; they have no more qualifications than Beck, Rush, Hannity, O' Reilly, or Savage. IMHO they all blow some smoke.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/22/09 09:42 AM

I've lost respect for Walters, she went from a good investigative reporter to more of a good reporter for the National Enquirer.

Whoopi was good in Ghost because the part was basically just her, but she hasn't really stood out in anything else she's done IMO. She's like Kevin Costner, a one note actor, not much change in voice, actions, body language, facial expressions etc. Each character is about the same.

The only thing I give Beck credit for is actually walking into that hornet's nest in the first place, that took big ones. Agreeing to go on the View is like agreeing to go on 60 minutes, you best be squeaky clean or get ready for a ride.

That was the longest I've watched too except for clips from Whoopi's first day. Something about sitting down for an hour and watching 5 angry women bellow doesn't rate up there for me. What scares me is how long the show has been on, and the fact that there are that many angry people on the loose that subscribe to that vulture mindset. I'd rather watch Springer, at least he doesn't take himself seriously like the women on the View do. crazy

Since I know you're a guy who likes FACTS! and not LIES! the facts are Beck never said Walters came over to him. Walters, Behar and Goldberg, in fact, are the ones lying about and misrepresenting what Beck said.

In regards to race though, she often times seems to presume that the people around her (all white women for whom she may be their only black friend) simply don't know about cultural differences between people of different racial backgrounds. So she tries to explain things.

She doesn't always hit the mark though and you have explanations about Michael Vick. I'm sure she would be first in line to admit that she is wrong though.

Rather than picking fights with The View, Beck really needs to focus on his strong points where he really makes a difference in people's lives ... leading an armed revolt against the Obama SocialistFascistCommunist Tyranny that is taxing away that "9/12 Feeling" and destroying Our Rights that were given to us by our Forefathers !!!

If on September 12 I even hear Beck's name once I will throw up and not just a little bit. I am not sure whether he has that long of a shelf life. It would be sweet if he did though. The de facto leaders of the Republican party, Beck, Limbaugh, and Cheney, are doing such a swell job explaining what it means to be a frightened Republican. The Republican senators and governors who are so frightened of a few terrorists they cannot allow some in their prisons are doing a great job coming off the bench.

You will hear him much sooner on July 4th .... where the next Teabag Party will draw millions to the Washington Mall (how convienient that it does every year!) Beck will lead the hijacking of Independence Day (with the teabagging Boston Pops and teabagging fireworks too).

Maybe Beck should stay away from the Metro that day for fear that, you know, some Liberals may have seats reserved for them. laugh

Again, Dave, where does Beck specifically state "Barbara Walters came over to me.."? In either one of the videos posted above. I know you like facts Dave and hate LIARS!! So please, find the phrase where Glenn Beck, on his radio show, said:

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/22/09 10:17 PM

What an unbelievable topic! laugh I've got time. Let's defend the Hollywood Elite from America's Biggest Rodeo Clown ... here's my opinion:

Beck begins by saying he's seated behind the seats he believes are reserved for Biden. (1:21)
Next he says police enter and clear the way for Walters, Goldberg & Croft. (1:57) Beck says the seats were reserved for them.
He then says the train begins to move, and Walters says to him "Glen Beck".... (3:02)

So Beck set the scene that (only Liberals) must visualize.
He's seated, Walters enters under escort to the table seat in front of him, Walters talks to him.

Beck's apologists are almost as humorous as those that defended Rush "he never said he hoped Obama would Fail!" or Hannity "never said he would be waterboarded!". As Beck said during his View interview, he's "only a commentator" ... and as such in his defense when facing the Hollywood Elite face-to-face after he used show to paint them as snobs, truth and facts don't matter much when there's higher ratings to be had.

Why Walters and Goldberg even brought it up is ridiculous and self-serving. They should have spent the interview asking him why he can't tell the truth about the big political issues that matter to a whole lot more people.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/23/09 04:51 AM

Waitjjustaminute. Not to side track but Hannity did say he would be waterboarded. He said he would do it as a fund raiser for the Iraq troop families.

You mean he actually weaseled out of that? I was so going to watch that and send in money. I figure I would have had to pledge hundredths of a second though since that was as long as he would last.

You mean his apologists parsed every word stripping out all content and intent and said he really did not say it? Well I guess it is a good example of weasels recreating the world out of whole cloth like this Beck incident where they focus on the "did he come are was he called" and miss the whole content and intent of the embarrassing exchange.

The most embarrassing part of the exchange is when Barbara Walters defines Glenn Beck or should I say Glenn defines himself. He is not a reporter, nor an investigative reporter. He is a "commentator." And as such he does not report news he only commentates. This gives him the license to lie, snivel, weasel, make stuff up, pantomine, and generally just be a goofy two bit radio show host who has somehow garnered the spotlight since his political position is found wanting of any leaders so it befalls Rush and Glenn to explain it. But since they are only commentators and not reporters they get to exaggerate, pontificate and lie. We have heard this excuse for Rush hundreds of times so why not Glenn too?

I think it is great. Rahm Emanuel is laughing through his Monday morning meeting as his plan to make the two of them the de facto leaders of the Republican party works to perfection. That the Bush butt sniffers are out on the street without a job so the butts of Glenn and Rush are the only ones available is just grist for the Daily Show.

When I got my marching orders last Monday morning from Rahm he said, "if Glenn, Rush and Hannity did not exist I would have to create them." I'm starting to think Rahm did make them somehow. Oh wait, I just noticed the title of this thread, the main ingredient of Rahm's recipe:
1) Take one warm sack of dog mess, stir slowly over low heat ...

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/23/09 11:27 AM

Beck set the story up he was sitting there and Whoopi and Walters came to him. Did he actually used those exact words, NO, but his story described THAT situation... they came across him, rather than he approached them as it really was. And the whole story about reserved seats was manufactured, to portray them as "elitists". ... again it's made up BS !!

The event is really trivial, but it shows he twists reality to fit his entertainment needs, and talks through both sides of his mouth. That's the importance... but then we knew most of those conservative neocons did... so it's not a revelation.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/23/09 11:40 AM

O'Reilly goes on Letterman and can't defend himself on statements he's made ... then goes back on his show the next day to attack the "pinhead" Letterman.

It wasn't that long ago when Cramer was busted by Jon Stewart. Cramer admitted he was wrong, seemingly embarrassed by his actions, apologized and said he'd "do better" ....
... then he went back to the comfort of his own show the next day and blasted Stewart for being a hack, a setup, and idiot ....

Beck gets nailed in a similar way by the women of The View and apologizes ... then goes back to his own show to rewrite events and call them liars.

That was my way of thanking you for pointing out another word that I can hate as much as guesstimate you looser. cry

Commentate. A great word for stupid people. It was going hot and heavy back in 1795 by only for commenting on annotation. But then went medium rare until these radio and TV talk show hosts needed a word to describe what they do. They don't report, they don't fact check, they don't even analyze the news. They commentate on it. Which means they google youtube until they can find a little factoid that they can twist to make fun of an enemy or to back up what pontificating spew they have recently espoused. You could probably be able to do this without actually being able to understand the written word.

It might even raise my hackles more than guesstimation.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/23/09 04:23 PM

What exactly made it perfectly good? The title, which is itself all about sh!t? or the fresh new give and take about right wing commentators vs. left wing bitching? or the sparkling dialogue about who did and who did not lie? or the loose accusations of racism? As far as I can see all that's missing to make it really excellent is km introducing something to the effect that Whoopie or Glenn or Barbara is/are gay pederasts. Now that would be a really terrific thing. Don't you think?
Posted by: polymerase

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/23/09 04:40 PM

Is Glenn Beck a gay pederast? Do you know that the Brits both spell and pronounce pederast differently than we do? Of course we are right.

"Did he use those exact words, NO"

That's the first correct thing you've said in your post, Dave.

Here is what Beck said on his radio show from the clip Walters and crew used on The View:

"...And so there were four seats at this table and it was empty. So we get in and sit down at the table and and the lady says "Oh no no no no, you can't take those." "Why not?" "They're reserved." "They're reserved? I didn't .. you can't reserve" "No no, these are reserved." Now I'm thinking, Joe "Amtrak" Biden is getting on to tho .. is getting on the train, because you cannot reserve a seat on Amtrak. They don't do it. Well, all of a sudden the police enter. Clear the path. It's Barbara Walters and Whoppi Goldberg. Oh and Steve Kroft. How did they reserve seats on Amtrak when you can't reserve seats on Amtrak? Now as the train took off, and Barbara said "Glenn Beck." I said "Yes Mrs. Walters how are you?" "You're going to be on our show in a couple of weeks I understand." I said "ohhhhhh" and Whoopi looks up over her glasses "Oh yes. Glenn Beck. Yessss..."

So:

1). Beck never said "Barbara Walters came over to me."

2). Walters, Behar and Goldberg accuse Beck of saying "Barbara Walters came over to me" which, again, is something he didn't say.

3). They then accuse Beck of lying (for saying the thing he didn't say).

4). Walter, Behar and Goldberg then become guilty of doing the very thing they're wrongly accusing Beck of doing: Lying. Because they are .. lying .. and misrepresenting what was actually said and, in effect, smearing Glenn Beck all because they don't like his politics. And you're all for it.

Pathetic.

You all swim in Keith Olbermann's dirty bathwater. What a poisonous pool.

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/24/09 10:02 AM

He didn't HAVE to say it explicitly... he created a fairy tale that left the image they came to him !!

You can convey messages several ways, Matt... he did it by insinuation...

this is the deception and half truths they peddle...

you don't want to see it fine, it's there , it's real, and everyone else sees it but you and a couple of others who press your lips on Bush's footwear.

Did I call you " Bush boot kissers". NO, not in those words ! .... but what image did you get ?? laugh

Re: “lying sack of dog mess.” - 05/24/09 01:30 PM

Bulls!t Dave and you know it.

They didn't accuse him of "insinuating" something.. They accused him of saying it and then called him a liar. Total bulls!t and you know it.

But, because Olbermann has told you what to think, you've stopped doing it for yourself. Congratulations, you're officially a stooge.
