Now, you people know I love Sarah Palin. But who is naming these kids?

WTF?

What happened to regular names that won't get you beaten up in school? Like, I don't know...Steve, John, Paul, George.....

when 17 year old kids get pregnant they typically aren't thinking long term, i'd guess.

Bristol Palin is paid $300,000 for exclusive photos of her baby. And so it goes.

Nope

If it were twins it would have been "Tripp" and "Falll"

Actually, I love that name. Distinctive or at least different. Nothing wrong with it at all as it goes with the other kids.

Our local newspaper frequently runs a full page of baby pictures along with the names. I'm sure glad I'm not a teacher with a need to remember the names.

I doubt that the many of the names I see (most would be in the center column of the Onion example) will turn up at college level...so you're safe...for a while. wink

Do you watch college basketball. I see some of the names and have to laugh at the name and or the spelling.

What is with naming a kid and spelling it "Antwaine". ON the same team there is a "Germaine". So we either pronounce the last syllable rhyming with "Main" or we use "Mahn"

Just recently, North Carolina had a great player in the form of "Jawad Williams". Now what mother names her kid "ja-WAD"? I can understand wanting to name the baby an ethnic African American name and applaud her for that but don't use "Jay WAD" for goodness sake.

Actually, I would prefer "Sinutab".

We have functional names in our family which help define who we are and what is expected of each of us:

Daughter No. 1 WouldItKillYouToCallNowAndThen
Daughter No. 2 CleanUpYourRoomDammit
Me ShutUpAndPay
Mrs. SteveG YesDearOfCourseYou'reRight

It really is efficient. grin

WHen I was a wee one I was about 6 before I realized my name was "MrB". UP to that time I thought it was "Gawddammit". AS My dad would always say something like "Gawddammit eat your food" or "Gawddammit give me the 3/4 inch wrench not the 5/8ths".

One time he messed up and said "Jessus Cherist, get the lead out". When I just stood there he yelled at me again and I responed "You Said Jessus Cherist, that's my brother's name, I'm Gawddammit"
