Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:06 AM

I prefer NOT embedding video into posts - too much "junk".

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:31 AM

I enjoy embedded video.

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:41 AM

I enjoy them too because the youtubes no longer actually take long to load until you click on play. Not cluttering the internet tubes at all.

It would be nice if people who imbedded them wrote a short explanation why we should hit play. If there is no hint then I don't click. Life is too short.

So can you imbed? I don't see anything. I guess I will have to try.

Great White Sharks are cool. Seals now live right on the rocks in front of my house. They are so cute. I can't wait for a white shark to eat them.

Guess not. Maybe the URL?

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:43 AM

Ah, it looked like gibberish in the preview but it posted fine. And the bare url linked itself.

I feel like we just left the 19th century and entered the 21st. Sweet.

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:51 AM

Notice those numbers to the far right sorta like post count ?

Yours jumps ahead by 2 points so I wonder if that means you made 2 other post before your last one in this thread ?

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 09:53 AM

doh, I gave up at the preview... the benefits of following through... mind you that still has to go down as a glitch because it's not a preview is it!

How many jumps this post?

Could that number be the identifying number for this post in the Sandbox or all posts at MM Forums?

I have no idea ? still trying to figure out what the folder on the far left is in list view

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 10:12 AM

The trick is to only watch 1 out of 10. Being picky helps me cut down on clutter. Although there were so many primo funny ones this last month, I violated my own trick quota a lot.

I just put a post on this in the Forum Feedback area (let's put that stuff there as it's a LOT easier for us as admins to deal with, and focuses everyone in the same place).

Thanks!

Color gets done this way: [ color : red ] [ / color ]

Leave out the spaces, of course.

[color:blue] Oaky I'll try this[/color:blue]

Re: youtube test - 11/07/08 06:03 PM

The /color doesn't have the color name in it, carp. See: blue

Use Full Reply Screen. Type your text, hi-lite it, pick from the little menus. It places the correct tags before and after your text.

Well, I just picked that at random to try out the posting feature. What did I do wrong? And how did you do it successfully?

You were linking the .html page, not the .jpg image.

Yeah, gotta second that. Not really sure what über 21st-century features are here that I've really been missing -- aside from the fact that the place is *much* speedier ;-)

Still, wonderful to have a spot that is working reliably again. Thanks tons, Neil! =D
