In defense of Obama . . .

In defense of Obama . . . - 06/10/08 08:25 AM

You may have heard about this, maybe not. Obama seems to have lost his mind during this portion of his speech:

. . . what's *really* going on here is an audience member is shouting to Obama and it's distracting. Obama tries to focus on what he's saying, but the audience member keeps shouting, which further distracts Obama. My guess is he's using a noise reduction microphone, which is why you can barely hear the person shouting or audience reaction.

Now, had this been John McCain, it would've been the top story on the big three nightly newscasts. You can almost hear Brian Williams on the DNC Nightly News:

"... And at a campaign rally today, a curious thing happened. John McCain lost his place during a speech and had a hard time recovering. Turning now to the latest findings in Alzheimer's disease ..."

***************

The 60s are over. 40 years ago. Let it go.

Seems pretty obvious that he's responding to someone in the audience.

Mojo agrees with you.

edit: I think the difference with McCain is that only recently the media has even begun to examine the things he says regarding his shifts in policy. And Youtube has easily derailed the straight talk express on many occassions.

Politico reported yesterday: "John McCain told Newsweek that he did not deliver a portion from the prepared text of his speech last Tuesday chiding the media for not giving Hillary Clinton her due. But video from McCain's address shows him giving the line as written.

"The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans," McCain said in a nationally broadcast speech in Kenner, La. "And she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometime received."

Asked about this statement in an interview last week with Newsweek's Holly Bailey and Jon Meacham, McCain interjected, "I did not [say that] that was in prepared remarks, and I did not [say it] I'm not in the business of commenting on the press and their coverage or not coverage."

Please see the first minute of McCain's speech from last Tues:

People notice these kinds of things. It must be all that MSM bias that's ignoring Obama's gaffes (bitter) and problems (Rev. Wright) or rumors (Terrorist Fist Jab!) ...

If the Lehrer News Hour is any indication, the debate will go this way:

McCain: You're going to raise taxes.
Obama: Yes, but only for people who make 250000 and above.
McCain: You're going to raise taxes.
Obama: Yes . . . .
McCain: See, you're going to raise taxes.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]

Re: In defense of Obama . . . - 06/10/08 06:43 PM

Problem McCain wants to cut corporate taxes 10%, keep Bush tax cuts for top 2%,... and another tax he wants to cut... how will he pay for it ?
... he's going to balance it by cutting spending... and programs...
so probably No Head start (lets build more prisons)... it'll be like when Reagan came in and just blindly cut .. many were necessary, worthy programs..

it'll be deep if he makes all those tax cuts... earmarks won't touch the number he needs... and in their place - we just send more $$ to Iraq !
and the lower & middle class gets screwed while the wealthy continue the Bush joy ride.

Gotta drink lotsa kool-aid to swallow that FUD.

David (OFI)
