FrontRow Operation Broken

FrontRow Operation Broken - 10/31/05 04:53 PM

FrontRow operation seems to be broken under 10.4.3. For some reason, I no longer have sufficient privileges to replace BezelServices.framework in System/Library/PrivateFrameworks. That's probably just Apple being sneaky about the leak. Does anyone know how to easily override this problem? I want FrontRow back... frown

Well, you should have priv's to replace the folder. You could try

Code:
sudo mv ~/Desktop/backupframework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/bezelServices.framework

Huhwha? Do I need to create a file called "backupframework" on the Desktop?

Have the bezelServices.framework on the desktop and copy and paste what whitlock said and it will move the bezelServices.framework to the right directory and then frontrow should work.

If it doesn't work then try this

Code:
su

mv ~/Desktop/backupframework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/bezelServices.framework

Here's what I get:
Code:
Last login: Mon Oct 31 23:31:58 on ttyp1
Welcome to Darwin!
The-Book-of-Power:~ JediJoker$ sudo mv ~/Desktop/backupframework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/bezelServices.framework
Password:
mv: rename /Users/JediJoker/Desktop/backupframework to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/bezelServices.framework/backupframework: No such file or directory
The-Book-of-Power:~ JediJoker$

I even tried a permissions repair, but it had no effect. I think I'll try a permissions repair from the Tiger disk now.

just move the one in the folder to the trash then move the fresh copy into the folder.

I still have insufficient privileges for the BezelServices UNIX file inside System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/BezelServices.framework/Versions/A.

Heres what you do. Go on logout and select Other and log in as ROOT and then try copying the files you need over the old ones.

just delete the whole folder! authenticate the action, then drag and drop the new one, authenticate and done.

That replacement method worked just fine, but I still don't have FrontRow. I've tried all opening methods, but to no avail.
