External DVD burner: Help Needed

External DVD burner: Help Needed - 12/22/05 07:00 PM

Hey, I got a DVD burner from CompUSA, and iDVD doesn't reconize it as a "Superdrive." So, I was wondering if someone knew a solution to make it reconize it, or if there is a way I can use toast to burn iMovie stuff. Help is greatly appreciated, and thanks laugh

iDVD only recognizes built in superdrives. your gonna have to export your dvds as isos and burn them with disk utility or toast

Er...dunno what patch burning is, and how do I export the DVD as an iso and burn it so it can play in a regular TV DVD player?

Patch Burn is a hack utility to enable aftermarket drives to be used by Apple's apps. Google it up, its FREE. A superdrive is just a fancy word for a multi burn drive. They are the same as any out there although Apple primarilly uses Pioneer and Sony.
