Firewire Enclosures - 11/23/05 07:39 AM

I have two firewire CD burners, both are EZQuest Boa models. I was told one of them had a good firewire bridge, and the other had a good burner. On connecting them, they both have power, but only one of them shows up in the system profile. It seems to work fine as a CD ROM. The burners are LG drives, but in the enclosures they show up EZQuest Boas in th system profile. I guess this means EZQuest have overwritten (or overridden) the original firmware. My plan was to ditch the burners and install hard drives (master and slave if possible). This doesn't seem to work sadly. With two drives or just one. Any ideas?

Personally I wouldn't spend a lot of time on it. Those kind of enclosures can be had for dirt cheap.

I had my Pioneer DVD burner and it worked fine in OSx. When I bought a firewire enclosure it didn't see it. I had to install that special patch (forgot what it's called) and after that it was fine.
