Hard drive quandary solved at last! - 06/29/05 04:59 AM
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to tell you that I finally got around to solving my quandary with my 20 GB hard drive. I didn't buy an enclosure, but I did buy something similar: a USB to IDE adapter.
It sports the following features:
* Support for USB versions 1.0 to 2.0
* Works on Windows 98SE to XP, or Mac OS 8.6 and above
* A Plug-in power supply
I bought it from a computer supply catalog called TigerDirect. I was also looking at similar models, and the other vendors wanted $23.99 US Dollars, but TigerDirect only wanted $19.99 US Dollars. What a deal!
I consolidated all of my MP3s, games, and applications on to my 20 gigger, and the transfer rate was pretty good for using USB 1.1.
Well, I gotta go. Somebody at my Internet Cafe wants to use the same computer I am using.
