G5 graphics cards - 11/30/08 11:37 AM

Hey, I'm thinking about buying a used G5 tower, and I was wondering about the graphics card upgrade situation. Some mac cards available on places like macmall say that they are only compatible with the mac pro, but the dual core G5's had PCI express as well. Does anyone know if one of these cards will work in a G5? This one for instance:

Go to ebay. As long as it is on the list for openGL speed up, etc. Any card should be fine. Dont waste money on a superfast card.

Buying a pre-flashed card on ebay is also a waste of money because they scam you out of $200+ when you could get the same non-flashed card new or used for $50-$100 then just flash it yourself.

Really, something like a GeForce 6800GT does nicely and is not too expensive unless you buy it pre-flashed on ebay.

I suggest against buying a flashed card. A x800xt is good for the agp G5 and pcie would be the x1900xtx
