Need input on ati 9600 mod

Hi,

So I just picked up this used g5 dual 2.0 powermac and I wanted to upgrade the graphics card, but I didn't want to just get rid of the the stock card (ATI 9600 128mb ddr agp 8x). Can I mod the card to work in my g4 sawtooth. Basically I want to take the card out of the g5 and stick it in the g4. Maybe there is a pin mod to convert to a 2x and no flashing required since its already apple compatible.

unfortunately, if the machine doesnt have a 4X AGP bus, you're kinda outta luck. Those cards are rated for the Digital Audio machines or later. There was some buzz about the guys at other world computing (macsales.com) reworking newer cards to work in older machines, but I've not seen anything on whether they work, or how well.

Thanks. It was hopeful thinking. I'll just max the ram out for now and think real hard. Has anyone solder on more ram slots to a g5 4 slot machine (instead of 8 slot) The holes are there.
