Magsafe ring light mod?

I'd just like to know how hard this would be, and what I would need to know/need to have to do this:

would it be possible to change the magsafe power adapter to have a ring of light along one of its edges (like the old power adapters), instead of the current dot light? I think the old ring of light around the base was much cooler, and it would be really cool to have it on a magsafe.

To actually hack apart the magsafe connector to mod it would be more risk and hassle that it would be worth. You might be able to achieve the desired effect by building a new light pipe that would attach around the original, but of course you connector would be a fair bit bulkier.

You can use El-Wire instead of the LED on the power adapter.
