Another PC Card and airport question

I have a clamshell iBook and a Z-Com XI-300 802.11b pc card.

The Z-Com uses the Prism2/2.5/3 chipset. IOxperts has a driver avaiable for that card.

My questions is does a PC Card that is used in the airport slot have to use the same chipset as the original airport, or can I use the IOxperts driver with the card in the original airport slot?

good question. I suppose it depends on whether the airort card slot is simply an "inverted" pc card slot, or if it is recognized somewhat differently by the OS..... One sure way to know would be to try to fit some random PC Card in it-- USB, Firewire, whatever, and see if it is recognized...
