I generally don't like surprise pranks and sh!!t like this. Too many uncontrollable consequences could result. I can think of some.

One thing, I wonder how many times they had to repair this gadget after prankees beat the crap out of it. I know I would if I could find something with which to bash it.

I've seen pranks or practical jokes turn out bad. If one is going to play a joke on someone, he must be critically sure that the outcome is under controll. Especially when a surprise or shock is involved. Think heart attack or people falling down or reacting violently.

No one likes a joke more than I do but pranks are a different thing. In fact I think they are a form of bullying.
