A sad note - 07/27/13 10:28 PM

Watching the John Travolta film, Phenomenon and its sad ending, had me thinking, again, of the Music Therapist , Deanna Edwards.

I first became acquainted with her music in the late 70's when my wife was involved in the Hospice in Dodge City. At the time, her music just sent chills up my spine and I would soon be blubbering with emotion by her lyrics and her singing style.

Back in 2005 or so while we watched my sister die of lung cancer, I found her website and received a thoughtful email from her. Plus I got a cd of her music.

Some of the lines she wrote have stuck with me through my troubles.

Like: "teach me how to die and I will teach you how to live" ( something like this)

I just discovered that she died back in 2010.

One of her songs

Remembering You - Deanna Edwards

Remember me whenever you see a sunrise,
Remember me whenever you see a star,
Remember me whenever you see a rainbow
Or woods in autumn colors from afar.

Remember me whenever you see the roses
Or seagulls sailing high in a sky of blue.
Remember me whenever you see waves
Shining in the sun.
And remember, I'll be remembering you!

Remember me whenever you see a teardrop,
Or meadows still wet with the morning dew.
Remember me whenever you feel love
Growing in your heart.
And remember, I'll be remembering you!

Deanna Edwards

May God be with you , Deanna. You have given so much to so many

But a problem is that her music I can't find. There are some tapes and vinyl on amazon.

Shucks

Her lyrics are quite amazing to listen to. She is a song writer from the heart and soul.
