A bit f sad news for me tonight - 05/10/13 09:04 PM

When I was diagnosed with cancer back in '09, I came to know of this gal a few years younger than me who had been battling it also. She and her husband ate at the same restaurant I do sometimes. She is a good friend of a good friend of mine. I also shot some wedding anniversary pictures for her last summer. At that time they had just found more cancer in her stomach.

She passed away a couple hours ago. It's sad to lose anyone to that bastard.

We weren't really close like buddy's like that. Still sad

She had been having a hard time the last month and last night , Thursday, she was bad.

This s just a comment.

We all need to appreciate our loved ones, friends and such. We don't have enough f them no matter what Facebook says

I will be fine.

hadda stop to scrub the tears from my eyes
before replying.

Yeah, that's rough.
I know, the basturd not only runs in my family
it freakin' gallops. frown

It's taken all of my mom's side of the family
and heart disease has claimed all my dad's side.
('cept the 2 uncle's who'd been shot)

They caught mine early, but it's still scary..
..must be even more so for you.

I'm the youngest of 11. Four f my siblings have passed. Three with cancer.

Brother with Mesothelioma
Sister with lung cancer
Brother with bone and liver. He had had colon cancer some 12 years before he died.

So, it's definitely in my family.

We certainly are not unique. I recall once walking into the cancer center office seeing a stack of patients files reaching four feet high. So many people with misery.

Not that misery loves company...but...

Recent findings indicate that cancer has become all-but
inevitable, and as such it's no longer "if" but "when".

Seems that it's a matter of aging.... that statistics
are rising not only because our population has become
longer lived than previous ones that had simply passed
sooner from something else before cancer would have
eventually caught up with them, but due to
Environmental pollution (food additives, cleaning
products, insecticides, work related chemical exposure,
+ a sedentary, yet increasingly stressful "easy modern
lifestyle") has merely exacerbated the situation.

...whatever...

I would have argued the point then & there but rather
than rise to the bait, I figured, "Why Bother?"
but for the record... Yes, it's "FAIR GAME"!

While it may seem insensitive and ill-timed, as one-of-
many citizens in my town who grew up & went to school
within close proximity of a Super-Fund Site

IMO Perry and his blustering DE-regulation for the sake
of short-term financial gain, not to mention suggesting
that other states should follow suit, is unconscionable!

Not only is that BillBoard "FAIR GAME" to serve as a
reminder to others of the consequences, but that cartoon
should be TATTOOED ACROSS HIS FOREHEAD ...only
Backward! ...so he sees it every time he looks in a mirror.

and before everybody jumps on my case, have a look at
that EPA Super Fund list, and see how many of YOUR
towns (and school districts) are on it.

Bad news, MrB. I'm sorry for the loss. Even if she wasn't a buddy it's tough.
