Some are decent... while some really struck a nerve... resonated with me.
Or is that "resin-ated"?

Are there people really like that? Serious question.

Like what? There's 10 episodes with different characters through out.
Essentially, yes... although I don't what you're seeing that's so unusual. Looks like a ton of shows I've seen on tv through out the years.
These are little vignettes...

I watched high maimtence and brad Pitts .

Wondering if there are people like those portrayed. I really wanted to know. I don't know any so am truly interested. Don't take this any way.

Ugh. I didn't take this "any way" dave. This is just my response to your question. You asked, I responded. Don't be testy.
BTW.. the name of the series is High Maintenance.

I don't find any of these characters any more unusual than...say... Seinfeld.
So when you ask "are there people really like that"?
..I am perplexed at what "like that" means?

Hmm. I was wondering that about your replies. Dave was just asking some questions. I didn't take them in the same light that you did for some reason.

Re: OK.... Bwahahahaaaaa.... - 05/07/13 11:30 AM

I guess not..
He asked if there were people like that.. and i responded yes. There was no malice or anger in my words. What exactly are you seeing in my reply that could possibly be construed as anything other than informative..or incredulous.
By incredulous I mean he was wondering out loud if there were really peeps like that... and I was wondering...why not? Yes, there are.

Ennywho... I would appreciate someone pointing out what I replied that was anything other than a typical response....

You're responses to him seem a bit testy for some reason.

What's happened to the family we had here. Are we getting to know each other too well? In the last few months or so something has got off track around here IMHO. A bit of a lack of tolerance for differing views from our friends.

This is after other posts where dave has suggested I was getting testy/defensive/whatever.
I'm merely replying to someone question. He asked me a question. I answered it. He responded .. don't take this anyway....

Meh.. whatever.. why do I even bother to post in the mausoleum?

I can understand both sides, and do follow these boards. You both have been getting under each other's skin recently.

Let's all just step back, chill out, and appreciate the value in the years we've been together here.

Peace. smile

Catch you on the flip.

David, please. I was not leading anything into my questions. When I clicked the link , played the first one, which I thought was "high maintenance" . Then I viewed the one that you singled out, "Brad Pitts" .

I don't watch network TV. I didn't recognize either of these as TV shows, if, indeed they were. So I was asking if there were people who acted like this in real life . At least that is what i intended as I have never known anyone who did act like these actors.

This is from my experience but I , indeed, know that I've not had the same relationships that others have had. That is the only reason for my questions as I thought the people shown were interesting.

Also, I take full responsibility for any reactions coming from my questions as I was the one not being clear.

This is still a great community. Lets keep it together. The questions I asked were an attempt to keep the thread going, and learn in the process.

I will continue to respond to your threads, in what I hope to be a positive way.

We are the same as any one big dysfunctional family. Hugs and kisses one day, fire-breathing dragons the next. Some of us take a break once in awhile and then return. We all have to go out and smell the roses every so often. But most of us come back.

Sorry...

Well Cel, responses like your last, calling someone else's response bull pucky qualifies for "bad" behavior! It may be different from what you'd respond, but then that is what makes this place interesting.

As to it stopping somewhere -- okay you're a cockeye optimist.

Wars, rumors of wars, disagreements, fights, name calling are here -- and everywhere -- to stay!

If this would have been a perfect world (Forum) there wouldn't have been no need for that dude to die on the cross.

So my lovely Cel, I will put up with your BS if you put up with any you see here.

With sincerity and love and Kumbya

Re: OK.... Bwahahahaaaaa.... - 05/09/13 11:40 AM

I saw 3 of them
& yep, there are people "like that".

Having not lived a very sheltered life, I've roomed with the Flat-Mates
From HELL on several levels, from communes in the '60's, college
roomies in the '70's and housemates in the 90's

I've found when you're thrown together with people with whom you
don't have a bond with, either by love or kin, you never know what
you'll come home to from one day (or night) to the next!

Mostly it's just little stuff, that gets under your skin...
People who “borrow” your stuff, eat your groceries, don’t fulfill their
agreement to share the chores, are chronically late with their share
of the rent, invite unsavory guests home, or have “excessively LOUD”
sexual encounters...sometimes all of the above! smirk

BTW,
IMO the "supplier" in Brad Pitts was a jerk, in he had a responsibility
toward that lady who was freaking out...to stay with her at least until
she got her head in a better place. She seemed on the verge of doing
something really dumb, like that police chief with the brownies...liked
the cut-away scene with the chemo-patient scarfing down food was
the only redeeming factor, afaiwc.

Interesting. There are some different people out there. One really shouldn't stereotype people.
