Hope it's a light one too. My wife had a pretty light case, with some significant but not horrible discomfort. Good luck!

So far, just on the right side of my face and only mildly annoying. Got meds today.

Got my "Welcome to Medicare" physical next month, and I'm gonna be asking the doc about it. I had chicken pox when I was in my mid-30's.

There is a vaccine for it now. Once my outbreak subsides, I'm going to get it.

In order to avoid looking totally absurd, I'm now growing a mustache.

So far I have not had the displeasure, know several who have had them...not comfortable...mustache is good idea

One of my brothers had it last year. We were discussing it today. He said it was so bad for him, he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy.
I thought that was a pretty stout statement and brought up his first ex-wife.... he said not even her.
Must have been hell.

Sorry to hear you have to experience this. One of my children had shingles in her teens. I felt so sorry for her. It was a very painful experience.
I've been getting the shingles vaccine for two years now and plan to continue.

Hope your case is mild and resolves quickly.

My Dad had them years ago, and he was in terrible pain.

Thanks for all the sympathies, but this outbreak on my face hasn't been terribly uncomfortable. It has spread a bit and I need to go to an ophthalmologist tomorrow to get the eye drops that prevent the shingles from causing eye ulcers. So much fun!

Did you get the vaccine, or are you too young ??

Vaccine is recommended for those of us who are over 60. No, I haven't had that, but I can after this flare up subsides.

Saw the ophthalmologist today. He isn't concerned that it will affect my eyes due to the location of the outbreak being below the eye. If the outbreak were on my head or forehead, then there is a significantly higher risk of eye infection.

I have some horror stories about family members and shingles, but I'll spare you. :-)
