Just checking in

Just checking in - 02/27/13 06:29 PM

Hope you all didn't worry too much about me. smile I've been very busy with school and the like so I've been too tired to get on the computer at night. The only news I have is that next friday is my school's Sadie Hawkins dance, and I've been recruited to take pictures of the coronation skits and the dance for the yearbook. I'm already the Nu-Kom-I (The name of the yearbook) Photoshop and fireworks expert.

Well I'm too tired to think of anything else.

Later,

Ah! Wisdom enters by the ear. Then it goes out by the fingertips on a keyboard.

Quality usually trumps volume =D You should take as many photos as you need in order to get the good shots you want ... unless in this case they actually *need* 500 photos to fill-out the Yearbook ;-)

Grats in any case -- sounds like it could be a fun project!

I must add that I'm using this camera.

Re: Just checking in - 03/01/13 07:19 AM

As a comment on the way you are holding the camera: you might try placing your left hand in an underhand position so the base of the camera is resting on the palm of your left hand. This leaves the fingers and thumb of the left hand to adjust the zoom and other controls on the lens. It as gives greater stability for the camera so you can hold it steadier.

This is assuming you can turn your hand in that position.

Just a thought from an old photographer. In the old days we needed to adjust the aperture of the lens that way. Still even with digital cameras , DSLRs , most zooms are manual and on the lens barrel.

Five hundred images. Interesting. In the old film era this was a lot, but in digital this is not so many.

Have fun

All sounds good in your world. That is great.

You make a cool photographer. Hope to see a couple of the pictures you like the best.

Have fun.
