Ice Cream

Ice Cream - 02/13/03 08:28 AM

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream??

We hardly ever buy ice cream, but last night, I needed some (no, I'm not pregnant, just a craving). We hardly ever buy the expensive kind, but oh, yummy, it looked so good, and I could not choose, so I got to choose TWO Ben & Jerry's flavors:

I broke into this one last night - NY SuperFudge (because I am not the best photographer, it might be hard to read the contents in the picture above) - it is chocolate with "white & dark fudge chunks, pecans, walnuts & fudge-covered almonds." All I can say is YUM, YUM, YUM:

And this one, well, I have yet to try some, I only cracked it open to show all of you what it looks like (well maybe so I could take a peek too). I'm not sure about the name, "Chunky Monkey," it just sounds wrong. Maybe it needs a dancing banana on the label (hint, hint, for more potential post padding). It is banana ice cream with "fudge chunks and walnuts."

MrsJC

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug

Re: Ice Cream - 02/13/03 09:03 AM

Any kind with a candy bar crunched into it is good to me. Snickers®. Butterfinger®, Heath®. It's all good.

But my absolute favorite is just plain old Vanilla ice cream with the real vanilla beans in it, not that imitation, yogurty stuff. Something about the texture of real ice cream and the taste of real vanilla extract is just wonderful. Most times I also pour some milk on it or, when I'm feeling really daring, some Coke®.

Now I want some. Darn you to heck.
Re: Ice Cream - 02/13/03 09:06 AM

Plain vanilla and plain chocolate are my favourites. I like also "pistacho" (don't know how to say it in English), but I hardly find a really good one.
Now I'm trying to avoid ice creams and sweets in general, although I'll become an elephant because I feel really hungry.

Re: Ice Cream - 02/13/03 09:12 AM

There's actually a drink called a Coke Float you can order in ice cream shops. Usually it's a couple of scoops of vanilla in a glass with Coke poured over it. I just put mine in a bowl.

Ben & Jerry's is not available here, so I wouldn't know
A couple of friends were thinking of getting the franchise over, but we got an apology letter saying that our part of the world is not targeted at this time.

Baskin & Robins is popular here, and I go for Chocolate Madness since it's the only sugar-free flavor available that would not mess up my blood glucose levels

http://waleedsgallery.biz

Years ago I liked licorice and ment.

Now green apple and ment. The green apple is a sherbet type = milke/creamless, light, sweet. and also ment should be sweet, i don't like to feel the fatty tastes. I find those in the ice cream shops.. smile

Giaguara
Chunky Monkey made me say "I do." - 02/13/03 09:37 PM

Short version of a long story:
Chunky Monkey eaten straight from the carton became a ritual of sorts while my (soon to be) wife and I "dated"

At our wedding party we had the caterer serve Chunky Monkey on silver trays, in the carton with spoons stuck into it. It got a good laugh from our guests, no one really knew why but everyone enjoyed the absurdity of the moment.

I haven't thought of this for many years now, and we've got a 10 year anniversary coming up.....hmmmm....
