I wonder if a full album's worth of songs count for x number of purchases, or if they only count for one?

(((Sure wish I had a nicely loaded account balance there)))

Would account for one purchase I guess for the sweeps

But when you buy an album it counts as one purchase - or do you get a sales receipt for each song in the album ? I think not.

Re: Almost to 500 million... - 07/17/05 12:59 PM

BUT: If an album has 12 songs, you watch the progress bar move toward 100% 12 times, not once.

Re: Almost to 500 million... - 07/17/05 01:05 PM

But when you receive your receipt, it only has the albulm listed... Now, granted, you could click on "Buy Song" twelve times instead of clicking on "Buy Album" and then it would count for twelve I'm assuming.

----
Stupidity is like nuclear power. Right.
One album would count as how many ever songs are contained on that album. No way that one made it past the lawyers.

It says songs, it has to mean songs.

Humm

I guess its a number game - really depends on how Apple counts.
So you buy an album its a "single purchase" and Apple counts it as 12 songs sold ? Humm interesting. That would mean that Apple counts songs and not purchases ?

Re: Almost to 500 million... - 07/17/05 01:29 PM

it does say "songs downloaded" -- even if you buy an album, you still have to download each individual song.

--
Straw-man rhetorical techniques are the practice of refuting weaker arguments than one's opponents offer. 2 "set up a straw man" or "set up a straw-man argument" is 2 create a position easily refuted, then attribute that position to your opponent.

Re: Almost to 500 million... - 07/17/05 02:15 PM

i practiced at the last 100,000 marker and i noticed the numbering sped up quicker than i could react. i wonder how early you have to hit buy to come in close to the marker? and, i wonder if i buy a lot of songs and they start downloading whether my downloads are counted in succession or whether each download is counted independent of the other songs i am downloading (meaning that thousands get downloaded in between each of my songs)??? hmmm.

--
Straw-man rhetorical techniques are the practice of refuting weaker arguments than one's opponents offer. 2 "set up a straw man" or "set up a straw-man argument" is 2 create a position easily refuted, then attribute that position to your opponent.

Re: Almost to 500 million... - 07/18/05 07:31 AM

I'm very bitter with iTunes right now- I have been getting this error for a few weeks now that my 'zip code did not match', and so I have not been able to download more than the one song throughout this entire contest.

Customer service was no help- they gave me a few options, none of which seems to be the case- one of them being that my 'bank's servers were busy', another one saying that there might be some spelling errors or whatnot that would cause my iTunes account to not match my credit card, and another one which said that my version of iTunes needed to be upgraded. Bleah!

[color:orange]"There's no laws in this place. Anything goes. It's like Thunderdome!"

The system that verifies addresses on credit and debit cards can be very picky.

For instance, my debit card won't authorize if I spell out "Avenue," or use "Ave." with a period...it has to be AVE, and nothing else.

My advice? Go to Apple.com, buy a gift certificate and use that in iTunes.

Well, I switched it to another credit card and it seems to work.
