I knew that he fielded some calls but it seems that he did quite a few.

I suspect that when you get the status that Steve had, it probably feels good to communicate with customer - even when you're a rude prick.

"Hi Scott, this is Steve," Steckley recalled hearing from the other end of the phone.

"Steve Jobs?" he asked.

"Yeah," Jobs said. "I just wanted to apologize for your incredibly long wait. It's really nobody's fault. It's just one of those things."

That rude prick was respected all over the world.

My point have some respect for the dead. I was brought up like that to respect everyone.
