HP Isnít Ready to Feel the Power of Thunderbolt Quite Yet

Remember when Apple dropped floppy drives? HP may be missing the boat on this.

Sounds like to me HP is waiting to see what MS will do? ?

Microsoft has nothing to do with Thunderbolt, it's up to the PC manufacturers to implement it.

Actually I'm not so sure it's going to catch on, at least not very quickly. Everybody has plenty of USB peripherals they can just plug into a USB 3 port. If everything switched to Thunderbolt, there goes all those peripherals.

Maybe I am wrong

Just thought there has to be a software / firmware, to support it? ? Anyway if MS wants to keep its USB approach it will.

Yes, along with the hardware necessary to use it that needs to be developed by the hardware manufacturers, MS would need to develop drivers for it, you're right.
