Pretty simple.
If a dealership gives away a $30,000 car... the perception is you just got $30,000 dollars of value. When in reality, the car is worth much less. It's marketing.

Very true, and the best part is: You owe tax on the $30 large, not the actual value of the car
(Quite frankly, I'm glad I didn't win the App Store prize, for just this reason.)

Sell the car for 25,000, pay your taxes and fees and pocket the rest.
