Met him at one of the MacWorld afterparties a few years back. Amazingly bright guy, easy to talk to. Designed the original Apple logo (Newton seated under an Apple tree). Wish nothing but the best for him.

HAHA! good call cool

Almost forgot to mention, he also wrote Apple's first operating manual (which, of course, featured the above logo).

That was new to me - cute! So at what point in Apple's history did the byte get taken out of the apple? smile

I never liked the original, but it was before my MacBabe daze, so Steve wouldn't care. It had way too much going on. It's not a logo, as much hippy dippy art deco.

The rainbow apple was fun, although it probably gave pressmen a headache. And if you were clueless, you'd think it was something for a kid's toy (not an entirely inappropriate assumption ).

The current apple is iconic. Classy. It's a keeper.

I agree

Every time I see the first logo - I think of a label for a Apple Jam or Jelly jar laugh

It's more like a coat of arms than a logo.

Antonio's link is dead for some reason.

But here's more on Ron Wayne.
