Remember Michael Rennie as Klaatu? - 12/05/08 08:57 PM

He waves his hands in front of a complex panel, and the machine beneath comes to life. He waves his hands some more, and the machine does computer-like stuff. Well, take a gander at this. Can Gort be far behind?!

Seems to me that "MS" had this 25,000 touch table idea "basic large iPhone" - Then CNN took that away with their Magic Wall and Magic Table , witched worked some times but they are using PCs so they are forgiven . Bum luck sorta thing , an end run back to MS.

Surprised that Apple is behind the power curve

The point is that it is not a touch screen. Proximity sensors mean you wave your hand at things happen without ever touching the screen.

I always thought Trog was Gort, passing himself off as a Neanderthal troglodyte. But Trog has been missing for so long that who knows . . .

Speaking of Klaatu, has anyone seen the new Day the Earth Stood Still?

The AJC said it's like the title !! ... aka doesn't "move" !! shocked

But many times the critics are wrong.

Mmm... the review I saw started with 'If you liked The War of the Worlds, you'll love this...' and I gave up at that point smile

The original is so atmospheric; it sounds as though this time round, they've made do with special effects instead. I might go and see it though - I'll let you know if I do.

Meanwhile...
