Dot Mac SMTP data - 07/11/08 05:40 AM

Can a friendly Dot Mac user let me know the SMTP data for sending via Dot Mac mail? I switched mine to my Bell SMTP and forgot the Dot Mac stuff.

- a.k.a. Mississauga -

Incoming Mail Server: mail.mac.com (or me.com)
SSL: on

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mac.com (or me.com)
SSL: on

Is that what you need? In Mail.app prefs > Advanced, set Authentication to Password.

Mail.app won't automatically set it up for you?

Yup, only thing missing is the SMTP server port number. Default is 25. Correct?
By the way, it is mail.mac.com, right?

Mail will set up automatically on a new account. I'm editing existing accounts.

- a.k.a. Mississauga -

Never mind - Dot Mac SMTP has officially changed to smtp.me.com - smtp.mac.com no longer works for me. But this is now a good thing because I had always had problems sending mail from my Dot Mac SMTP server - had to use Bell's SMTP. Now Apple's SMTP works like a charm!

Thanks for the help, Michael!

- a.k.a. Mississauga -

Correct?

I don't know about that, but if it is the default, I would assume that's it.

By the way, it is mail.mac.com, right?

That's for incoming mail server. I'm assuming you could also use mail.me.com. Outgoing Mail server is smtp.mac (or me).com. Again, I'm making the assumption that either mac or me will work now.
