Search Function at top/front of forum

Just joined the site and it's looking good but have one suggestion. First thing I looked for when i came into the forum was a search function. I know there is the site search bar and if I go into a Forum Section I can do a search, but would be nice to do a forum search from the very top/front end of the forum.

the site search turns into a forum search on the search page. Its not working properly though, for some reason... I will look into this. Can you submit this as a bug report please?
