A banal enhancement request

I was just wondering - I notice that on some boards, if I type (this :)) I get a smiley face before my closing parenthesis, whereas here I have to type (this <extra space>) to get a smiley face.

Is this fixable?

That's the way a lot of software works. Not much I can do on this one -- it's built into the software.
