$300 for the Premium version - OUCH! That's pretty bad compared to the $129 full price of Snow Leopard. Even their upgrade price of $199 is a kick in the balls compared to Apple's $29 upgrade price. Ugh!

It has taken Microsoft 10+ years to come up with a box that's easy to open. Here's hoping that they spend the next 10 years coming up with a way to make Windows easier to USE!

Yep pretty pricy for a Vista patch , them easy to open boxes must be expensive to make ?

Keep in mind the price comparison between Snow and 7 - MS calls Snow a Service Pack for Leopard and Apple should not be charging for it laugh

Or, you can simply buy the OEM disk (tied to one machine) for half that price.

Would be nice if Apple offered similar options.

Or course with Apple you can buy one disk and install it on 20 machines and it works.

If you've ever purchased a MS product, you can appreciate that, trust me. Not only is the software confusing, the packaging is just as bad. crazy

"From Friday through July 11, consumers in the U.S. will be able to buy an upgrade copy of Windows 7 Home premium for $49 or Windows 7 Professional for $99.
That offer is good for both XP and Windows Vista PCs, regardless of whether someone has been trying out the pre-release version of the operating system."

So for a couple of weeks I can get it for $49/$99?

But there are a LIMITED # of copies at that price... so one they're gone... they're like the "cheap seats" on a plane. Miss those and you pay full price... and we know those go quickly. blush
