Questions about data backup for new SSD - 05/08/13 09:04 AM

Hello Everybody,

Newbie here.
I just bought a 256 GB SSD and intended to replace the existing HD inside my MacBook Pro. Right now my HD got about 300 GB worth of data and since my SSD is only 256 GB, I was wonder how I should go about cloning my existing HD. I will be using Carbon Copy Cloner. Is it possible to just clone selective files to the SSD instead of everything? Are there any files I don't really need to clone over to the SSD so I can strip down the data to fit the SSD? Any suggestion will be really appreciated!

Launch Carbon Copy Cloner. Choose the Source disk. Uncheck what you don't want to copy.
