Still being VERY new to the world of Mac, I see nearly everywhere I look descriptions and facts about the G5 (which is what I have), but it gives statistics for about 4 of 5 different versions of this machine. How am I supposed to know which version I actually have?

Go to upper left hand corner Apple menu and click on About this Mac.

Click on "More info"

See model "name" and model "identifier".
Lots more info in here too.
This app resides in your utilities folder.

Also download MacTracker. It is a handy tool to have, it lists all Mac products ever made and their specs.

Although I prefer MacTracker
for ease of use, and because it "lives"
in your Applications Folder, so you can
use it even if you can't get online...

...there's also EveryMac that you can
get to from virtually anywhere even
from someone else's computer. cry -HELP!
