Why is Apple Memory more costly than Kingston, Corsair, or Crucial memory? Thanks.

Because it costs more.

There has to be more than that is cost more. What backing substantiates this?

The same backing that substantiates the cost of their whole product line.

Never buy RAM form Apple -- they mark that stuff up incredibly heavily. The reason they do this is because they can ... not much more to it.

They all get their chips from the same sources, so pick the most economical that you're comfortable with.

I purchased 8 gigs of crucial memory yesterday for my Mac Mini. Thanks
