Hard drive temperatures

Hard drive temperatures - 05/10/10 07:27 AM

On my Mac Pro I know that Seagate temperatures usually are a little higher than WD drives. Does anyone know what is normal and acceptable? Googling not for other info. TIA

OK. I found 5 - 50 C for Seagate operating temp and 60C max. I have a 320 GB mounted in a cheap $10 esata enclosure and the drive temp was running 47C so it had me a little worried since all the other drives were in the 37 to 42 range. Should be ok since the drive is on usually only when I am backing up. Thanks anyway.
