WTF? Apple ! . . some new 27" iMacs have problems

The first problem seems to be directly related to the Flash plugin. The first thing that I notice is that the plugin is 32bit while Safari is running at 64bit. I have no problems with Flash and FF which are both running in 32 bit.

techworld is MIA: Server not found.

Could be hardware or firmware problem ?

Flash has always run like ass on OS X. It runs worse in Snow Leopard.

Adobe needs to get their crap together.

I don't know if this is just an Adobe Flash Plug-In problem. Could be a hardware/video card problem. Or maybe a graphics driver problem? Hopefully the 10.6.2 update can fix that.
This is not good for the refreshed iMac line!

It's really a neat tool to eliminate Flash sluggishness!

Sounds like flash is not getting accelerated by the video card drivers.

Of course if they'd put an HD4870 in there like I suggested... well it'd do the same thing since both cards use the same drivers. :P

I still think there is a "conflict" with running a 32 bit plug-in within a 64 bit browser. You can change Safari to run as 32 bit as referenced in this post concerning the Adobe pdf plug-in.

Sarge, you and this video card fetish. It's not the video card since my old MDD has practically no trouble with the same things. Some are choppy if the machine is doing other stuff, but I'm more inclined to agree with Michael on the plug in being the the bottleneck.

First of all, I said video card drivers, not video card. Large difference. The plug in sucks on windows too, but at least the large majority of video cards accelerate flash video properly on that side.

It's a livesaver on our iBook G4!

Rarely use enhancements to my system, but I've been using clicktoflash for a couple months now.
Love it.

Perhaps it installs on a per-user basis, like the Safari prefs. Then there would be no password prompt, because not every user is an admin.

I've noticed this with Default Folder - if you choose Install for current user only, no password prompt.

Learn something new every day, thx. I logged in as as another user and still have flash enabled.

What are some things you like about it that it does.

It makes browsing so much quicker, especially on "older" machines. Since Flash sucks, pages load much faster without the flash content, no beach ballin'. And it's an easy click to load the flash content of the page if one wishes.

AND you don't have all this winky blinky flippin, scrolling action/BS on the periphery of the page detracting from the main content.
