I have a dead iMac (Rev. A). Is it possible to retrieve the data on the HD, by installing it in a G4 Quicksilver, or PM8500? Any alternative suggestions would be welcome.

yes that should be possible. You should install that iMac's HD as a second HD for your PowerMac though... don't remove the PowerMac's HD and replace it with the iMac's.

Good luck.

***
"Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms"
--Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josey Wales
you should be able to add it to the G4 if you still have only one drive installed, set jumper for "cable select" or "slave" and restart. You will need an ATA/IDE PCI card for the 8500 as it only has SCSI on the MoBo.

Zack
