Multifunction printers question - 02/02/04 11:03 AM

Does anyone use a multifunction printer? And if so, which brand and model seems to be the favored choice? Are they up to par with the individual photo printers and scanners yet?
Just wondering if it's time to consolidate, or wait a bit longer.

I don't own one personally but many of my clients have them.

These machines have basically the same print engine as their photo bretheren so photo printing is fine for everyday comps.

However, many of the software items included that extend a multi-function printers usefulness is lost on the mac because they are PC-centric.

The fact that these machines operate independently of a computer makes them useful.

[color:blue]Art is about making something out of nothing then selling it. My inquiry is to find if the print/scanning quality is on equal par to the current individual photo printers and scanners on market. So far I haven't found any multifunction machines to match my Canon Lide 80, or HP Photosmart 7550 on paper.

And now this software compatibility issue puts another wrench in things.

I have been looking at them myself and saw the Epson.
Go to the "all-in-one" section of their USA web site. I can't post the url for some reason.
It says that it is compatible with 10.2 and above. There is another model (5400) that is less money and doesn't have the card slots.
I wish I knew someone who had one to get a read.
Edited by sross on 02/02/04 06:14 PM (server time).
