Mavericks and Quick Look - 12/09/13 02:11 PM

Is it me, or is Quick Look not so quick anymore?

Pretty quick here, though I always thought Quick Look wasn't necessarily about speed but about viewing the file without opening the application.

My 2007 24" iMac at work is significantly slower. Spinning Gear of Death until it decides to redraw. Only 4 GB of RAM (Maxed?) will do that, I suppose.

On the other hand, I LOVE the fact I can select text from QL now.

I have a Jan. 2008 24" iMac with 4GB ram here but the video card has 512MB

Quick Look is definitely slower to show the initial preview of ANY image. That being said, it appears to be faster to show the preview of extremely large images. Probably has a lot to do with HD speed, video card, etc.

More specific. Quick Look using Spotlight. Seems it's analyzing all results before previewing the first image.
