Emptying the trash in Lion

Emptying the trash in Lion - 01/21/13 06:58 AM

I'm trying to empty my trash in OSX 10.7 on an intel iMac. Everytime I try, I get an error messagse saying ti can't be done because my online backup program (CrashPlan) is running. What's going on? What does one have to do with the other. I'm not backing up my trash folder?

Any suggestions on how to get around this?

Depends on what you're backing-up -- a comprehensive back-up would include the trash =)

At any rate, if there's a way to temporarily disable your backup sync, do that and then try emptying the trash (might have to restart) ...

Are you SURE you're not backing up your trash folder? If you're backing up your System Folder, then you ARE backing up your trash.

Thanks, guys. I culled my backups and seems to be working now.
