Menu bar - 12/08/09 07:18 PM

Got the new MBP and am loving it. However, I want to get rid of the translucent menu bar and I forget how to do it. Anyone remember? Also, while I'm asking--for some reason I can't get rid of the Documents and Applications icons from the Dock--any ideas?

Try...
System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Desktop > Translucent Menu Bar (check box at bottom of window)

That's in 10.5.8

Goodness, Doc! I have worried and fretted about my old 20 inch iMac for many months because the menu bar looked 'muddied' with the blue of my desktop color! I just went in and turned off Translucent Menu Bar!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. smile

Or, more directly, right-click on desktop and choose Change Desktop Background and check (uncheck) the box. wink

This thread would be 50 posts long if it were Windows we're talking about...
