wireless connection going nuts - 02/26/06 12:00 PM

Anyone ever heard of this problem. My laptop sits three feet from linksys wieless router, when I boot up it finds the router and has excellent connection strong signal, But the minute me neighbor boots up it drops the signal from my router and locks on to the neighbors router whose signal is weak and useless. Question, is my internal wi fi card shot. My wifes laptop is three rooms away has no problem at all. Driving me nuts. PS, My neighbor is across the street about150 feet away.

Edited by rigger on 02/26/06 07:01 AM (server time).

System Prefs ---> Network ---> [Linksys or Airport] ---> "Join a specific network" enter the name of your wireless network.

I have a similar problem now and then, when another signal, either another wireless network or some other broadcast signal in my area, interferes with my network and causes intermittant signal loss. Happens every few days for a/b 10-15 min mid-AM or-mid afternoon.
