Has anyone taken or heard about Apple's training and certification courses? I am interested in taking some but they are very expensive and I'd like to get some feedback before signing up. Any comments, concerns or direction would be greatly appreciated!<br><br>

Hi Mira,<br><br>I took Admin Basics and Server Essentials (individually, not the combo) in Chicago. A gentleman by the name of Alan Foster did the training for both classes and I really got alot out of them. I took them last year during the 10.0 release and had read everything I could get my hands on before attending and still learned quite a bit because both the instructor and all of the people in the class were pretty hardcore mac folks who combined could answer ANY question about ANYTHNG mac.<br><br>That having been said, yes they are expensive and you can learn everything you absolutely need to know from books. I would definately recommend the classes if you are either 1) going to try to get certified or 2) an auditory learner. Taking the classes for me was a valuable experience not just because of the material we covered but because of all the intangibles.... but then again I didn't have to pay for it. :-D<br><br>Hope this helps you. Thanks for your reply, Devlin. I appreciate this information. <br><br>I would like to get certification though I am not a network administrator or company Mac Czar. I'd like to think it would make me more marketable and enhance my knowledge about one of my favorite subjects: Apple Computers. I also serve on the board of a local science museum that is expecting a generous gift of many G3s in the next year. We can't afford a tech so I could be helpful in that way. <br><br>Can you tell me what the rough daily agenda was? Nothing specific, just how the days were spent. How many people in your class? My knowledge of Macs is pretty basic (even less for PCs--yechh!). I can make my way around in OS9 & X, but I did not answer the Skills Assessment very well. Other thoughts?<br><br>

I'm gonna just spit on the wall here and say that you really should get a Mac book or three - most of them have photos of what they are discussing and you also have the book as a reference in the future.<br><br>[color:red]semicolon dash parenthesis</font color=red>
